One of the best thing about having kids for me is making an adventure out of absolutely everything that happens.
This weekend we took a little trip to Cascais to meet up with my dad, and stumbled upon this beach where we found beautiful mussels sprucing up on every rock of this tiny bit of beach. It was a great excuse for C to put his explorer hat on as we had a really good look at them, tried to figure out where the babies were, why some were empty and see why do mussels grow on the beach! C touched all the different rock textures and mussel shells, managing a few ‘ YUUUKS’ as he stumbled across a bit of algae or slime.
After collecting a few mussels shells from the beach, we made lunch with them by simmering a bit of sand, with a dash of thinner sand and a lot of love.
And because there’s no such thing as a beach trip without meeting a pup – we made a new super cute friend!
How was your weekend? Did you catch sun, snow or a storm?
