US Family Camping Road Trip: Staying in KOA Cabins with Kids

When we started our road trip, we were staying mainly in hotels, with the odd airbnb thrown in sometimes. But staying on the side of a motorway, or in a shopping mall was too impersonal and the whole pretty awful, so we’ve taken to staying in camping site cabins or our tent instead. They range from the most basic (like the one from the pictures below, with just a bunk bed and double bed) to the fancy fully kitted luxury lakeview cabin we had in Savannah.

Being closer to nature is what we wanted the most in our US road trip, so this is a compromise made in heaven. It helps us feel free, away from road traffic and noise – just peaceful forests and wildlife. And that exactly how you would’ve found C on the day we took these pictures – being crazy, with no worries and very scuffed & bruised knees – a very happy boy.
