Two months into our our family round the world trip, I thought it may be a good idea to share an updated itinerary with you. Our USA road trip has been a little different than most, seeing that we have missed a few major cities, in favour of State and National Parks.
We have been to New York and Washington DC and agreed that our son will get a lot from them when he is a little older. For now, we want to see the little towns, forests, mountains, beaches with frigid water and grey skies, humungous rocks overlooking the deserts and alligators hiding out in swamps. This country’s natural diversity is mind-blowing, and it sometimes begs belief when we realise just how unique each state each, both in culture and tradition as well as in landscape.
We are reaching the end of our East Coast journey, having travelled all the way up from Miami to Maine, with a ‘slight’ detour through to Texas, Louisiana and Tennessee. And what a journey it has been so far… for our first two month’s highlights, we have a recap coming soon.
In the next 4 months, we will be travelling through Canada, visiting Montreal and Toronto, before we make our way through the American Midwest to visit friends in Milkwakee, and start our National Park odysee through Utah’s Arches, Bryce Canyon and Yellowstone, before we take a slow descent through the West Coast to our destination point – Los Angeles.
If you have any tips for the parts of the country we’re about to explore, we’d love to hear from you! Please leave us a comment, or just write to us.
